☆ Baga Gazriin Chuluu is a place with bizarre rock formations, an 1800m rocky ridge, and petroglyphs dating back to the Bronze Age and the Hunnu period. It’s also a habitat for birds of prey like eagles and various wildlife.

Baga Gazriin Chuluu - Yoliin Am
▒ Sightseeing in Baga Gazriin Chuluu after breakfast
▒ After lunch, transfer to Yoliin Am (420 km paved, 30 km unpaved, 7 hours)
▒ Admire the endless horizon along the way
▒ Yoliin Am
☆Yoliin Am is a gorge where ice remains even in midsummer. Mountain goats inhabit the surrounding cliffs, and if you’re lucky, you might spot eagles hunting them.

Yoliin Am - Khongoryn Els

Khongoryn Els - Bayanzag

☆ Tsagaan Suvarga is an ancient seabed, and its colorful sedimentary layers create a magnificent landscape.
If you look closely, you may spot snakes and lizards.

☆ Tourist information

▒ Gobi
The Gobi (desert) is located almost in the center of the Eurasian continent.
When you hear the word "Gobi," you might imagine a barren sand desert like the Sahara, but that’s not the case.
In Mongolian, "Gobi" means "a desolate land where small patches of grass grow."
Thus, the Mongolian Gobi is a steppe region that includes mountains, forests, rivers, sand dunes, vast grasslands, and a variety of flora and fauna.

▒ Baga Gazriin Chuluu
Baga Gazriin Chuluu is a place formed by massive rocks and is also famous as a migratory bird habitat.
The sheer scale of the various strange rock formations sculpted by nature is overwhelming.
The terrain and mountain features are vastly different from those in Korea, and it’s highly recommended to visit and experience it in person rather than relying on photos.

▒ Tsagaan Suvarga
Located off the road to the Gobi, it is about 470 km from Ulaanbaatar, taking approximately 8 hours to reach.
The towering, solid stone pillars formed by wind and rain eroding the sedimentary layers are truly majestic.
Tsagaan Suvarga is a masterpiece shaped by time and nature, and a treasure trove from the Paleozoic era.

▒ Dalanzadgad
Dalanzadgad is located on the vast Gobi land in southern Mongolia, about 550 km south of Ulaanbaatar.
In this dry Gobi region, camel milk is used to make camel milk liquor, and if you're lucky, you may have the chance to taste it at a local’s home.
For travelers by car, this is a convenient stop for refueling and stocking up on essentials for a smoother adventure into the remote areas.

▒ Yoliin Am
Yoliin Am means "Eagle Valley" in Mongolian.
True to its name, you can often see eagles flying overhead as you travel through the area.
Even in early summer, ice remains between the large rock cliffs, and you can reach the ice gorge entrance either by walking or on horseback.

▒ Khongoryn Els
Khongoryn Els is the largest sand dune in the desert, located at an elevation of 800 meters.
It is a vast mountain of sand created by accumulated grains over time.
Behind the sand dunes, dark blue mountains rise like a backdrop.
Enjoying a beer while gazing at the sand dunes from the camp is an unforgettable experience.

▒ Bayanzag
Bayanzag is famous for being the site where the world’s first dinosaur egg fossils were discovered.
The actual fossil site is about 20 minutes away from Bayanzag.
Parking at the top of a hill and looking out, you'll see a vast expanse of red hills.
The sunsets and sunrises at Bayanzag are breathtaking. I like to call this place the "Red Canyon."

☞ Precautions when entering and leaving the country

▒ Liquids cannot exceed 100ml when entering Korea.

▒ The amount of alcohol that can be brought into Korea is one bottle per person and up to two cartons of cigarettes per person.

▒ When entering Korea, you can bring in up to US$250 per person duty-free, and if it exceeds, you may charge it separately for customs duties.

☞ Personal preparations

▒ Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, is located 1,300 meters above sea level. In summer, there is a cool breeze in the bright sunlight. However, since the daily temperature difference is large in the morning and evening of the year, it is recommended to prepare a windbreaker or a thin outerwear even in the middle of summer.
You can prepare winter jackets in May, thick autumn jackets in June, autumn hiking suits in July and August, slightly thick autumn jackets in September, fully winter jackets in October, and fully armed winter jackets from November to April.

▒ Liquor sales are legally prohibited on the first day of every month.

▒ It's good to prepare a personal simple side dish.

▒ Long pants and sneakers (climbing boots) are good for nomadic and horseback riding experiences during the schedule.

▒ Mongolia has strong sunlight, so it is good to prepare sunglasses, sunscreen, and a hat with strings.

▒ When you look at the stars at night, if you have a thin mat on the ground, you can lie down and enjoy the stars. (Twinkle Twinkle)

▒ It is also good to prepare gloves (climbing gloves) for horseback riding.

▒ It is good to prepare toiletries (toothpaste, toothbrush, razor, etc.) that will be used simply during GER stay.

▒ It is very convenient to have a hiking wand when trekking.

▒ I would be very grateful if you prepare a few 1 dollar tickets and give a 1 dollar tip to the horseman and others when riding.

▒ Local Temperature: Mongolia's climate is continental, with long winters and cold summers short and pleasant and warm.
Winter is considered to be from mid-October to April.
In the northwest of Mongolia, temperatures can drop to minus 40 to 50 degrees Celsius in the middle of winter.
